Youth Minister Job Description
Description of Youth Ministry:
The youth ministry of St. David's exists to help young people understand who they are as children of God and how they function as part of the Body of Christ. Our youth minister's role is to help our youth grow into mature members of the church through providing opportunities for worship, Christian formation, service, and fellowship. Our youth ministry program is well established and financially supported in our budget.

Saint David’s Episcopal Church is a thriving parish of 650 families and 2,100 baptized members located in Roswell, Georgia, 20 miles north of downtown Atlanta. Fifty-two percent of our households have children at home. Saint David’s is full of growing families, active in community participation, and full of volunteer spirit. We are an Episcopal Church, offering numerous ways to worship, serve, and grow spiritually.
Primary Responsibilities of Youth Minister:
• Evaluate and shape the vision and goals of the youth ministry in coordination with the Family Ministry Team • Build relationships with youth and their families and help youth build relationships with each other and with the parish • Plan, develop, and implement all aspects of a balanced youth ministry, including Sunday School, worship, service, fun fellowship, and outreach • Select and/or create materials for Christian formation that support the theology and focus of St. David's • Identify and develop adult volunteers to work with youth in all aspects of youth ministry • Mentor youth in developing leadership skills • Encourage youth to engage in service through the many ministries offered at St. David's • Coordinate and oversee confirmation classes and provide leadership for confirmands, mentors, and parents • Broadly communicate the vision and activities of youth ministry through a variety of media (e.g., email, social media, newsletters, bulletin boards) • Plan and lead "Youth Sunday" liturgies • Plan and lead several trips throughout the year, including a fall retreat and mission trips Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
• Produce annual report of youth ministry and provide regular updates to vestry • Plan and manage a balanced budget Qualifications & Qualities Required:
• 3+ years of experience in youth ministry • Bachelor's degree • Deeply spiritual, creative, charismatic, energetic, and a model of Christian discipleship This position reports to the Associate Rector for Family Ministry and collaborates with our Children's Ministry Director and Children's Music Director. Salary is commensurate with education and experience level.
