Part Time Director of Children's and Youth Ministries

Position: Part-time Director of Youth and Children’s Ministries

Objective: to serve passionately, and with dedication, in coordinating and supporting the day-to-day operation of youth and children’s ministry in a way that empowers and gives opportunity for our youth, children, and their families to be fruitful in their Christian life and ministry.
Responsibilities: 1.Build relationships with youth, children, and their families, 2. Direct our Sunday School of 81 enrolled children and youth and 27 volunteer teachers, 2. Plan and Lead Youth Group, 3. Assist the Rector with Confirmation for Sr. High students, 4. Coordinate a Summer VBS, and 4. Coordinate training events for teachers, and 5. Plan and implement a few children’s and youth events and activities throughout the year.
• A degree or the equivalent in youth or children’s ministry and/or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
• Experience leading and coordinating Christian ministry for children, youth, and their families in the Anglican Tradition is preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong Organizational and leadership skills • Web and App proficiency – especially social media, email, word processing and spreadsheet solutions, Event coordination, calendar, contacts lists, and other church specific apps and
• The candidate will be required to successfully complete background checks and clearances.
Work Schedule: As this is a 3/8 time position (15-18 hours/week), there is much flexibility concerning the work schedule. The regularly scheduled work week during the Program year (roughly September – early June) is a staff meeting on Tuesday mornings at 10:30am, Sunday School during the 10:00am Holy Eucharist, 2 youth group gatherings per month (one Middle School and one High School) plus 3 work units. A work unit is a full morning, afternoon, or evening period. The summer schedule will not include the weekly staff meeting, Sunday School, or monthly age appropriated youth group gatherings. While there is flexibility concerning office hours, presence in the church offices is encouraged when possible and as needed.
Salary Range: $15,000 – $20,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
