We seek an Associate Pastor to guide our congregation's discipleship education with a particular focus on the youth of the church.
The Associate Pastor is a called and installed position responsible for leading the church in becoming better disciples of Jesus Christ, individually and collectively. This pastor will evaluate the needs of the church in fostering discipleship with a particular focus on our lambs - youth and new members - shepherding young Christians from adolescence to adulthood, attracting new Christians and guiding them as they develop their faith. Specific duties include the following:
Provide entrepreneurial leadership to developing discipleship within the church, including Christian education, youth programs, bible study, small groups, community service opportunities, and other avenues yet to be discerned. Preach the Word and lead worship as part of the pastoral team. Carry a share of the pastoral team's load in providing pastoral care to members. Foster and sustain a committed team of church members to ensure ongoing quality youth programming. Build compassionate relationships with visitors and potential members. Provide leadership to Session committees and other staff to develop and organize Christian education programs for adults of all ages. Provide support to existing Sunday school and Wednesday evening programming. Collaborate with staff, officers, and volunteers to foster continuous learning, spiritual leadership development, and discipleship in the church. *Explore opportunities for members and partners to engage in mission outreach as spiritual development.
