Church description

Cross of Christ Lutheran Church is a joyful community of people who love God and their church. For more than 50 years, the church has steadfastly communicated the light of Jesus with a visible presence on a main thoroughfare used by more than 100,000 people per day. We also strongly support outside missions work through annual mission trips to Haiti, monthly mission fund recipients, and all-church events to raise mission funds.
The church is led by newly-installed Senior Pastor Randy Miller, assisted by Pastor Emeritus Jon Reusch. A team of Elders, Council members, a small paid staff, and many committed volunteers lead worship and ministries for the more than 350 people joining us each week. We hold 3 separate services, emphasizing Lutheran theology and the sacraments within a blended, contemporary-leaning worship style. Approximately 35 youth currently attend various student groups on a regular basis. The church draws from many surrounding communities; more than 15 area high schools and nearly a dozen middle schools are represented among our youth. The church has a dedicated and newly renovated youth meeting space adjacent to our three-court indoor gym. Bloomfield Hills, a tree-lined suburb of about 40,000 people in the north metro Detroit area, is one of the wealthiest and highly educated areas in the United States. Its public and private schools are ranked as some of the best in the country. It has great diversity of people including a strong Jewish presence, plus Mormon and Hindu temples and a Muslim center. All of the major food, shopping, and entertainment options are available including a vibrant music and concert scene, world-famous museums, and many festivals. Besides the automotive industry, the area is known for its passionate sports fans, having four of the best professional sports teams in the country within a 30 minute drive (ok, three... but we still root for the Lions).
