Location: Harbor Church (Multi-Site)
Reports To: Lead Pastor
Position Type: Full-Time (Sunday–Thursday)
Overview
The Youth Pastor (YP) is responsible for overseeing all Youth Ministry programming across Grades 5 through 12 at Harbor Church. This role requires a leader who is passionate about raising up the next generation, proactive in identifying opportunities for growth and integration, and committed to building a Christ-centered community for students.
The ideal candidate is someone who can lead with vision, build strong relationships, and create systems that allow for sustainable, scalable ministry across a multi-site church environment. The YP will be deeply integrated into the broader culture and leadership of Harbor Church, helping bring unity and excellence to every student-focused gathering and experience.
General Responsibilities
Full-time role, Sunday through Thursday, with flexibility for events and ministry needs.
Must be a visible and engaged leader on campus, modeling the mission and values of Harbor Church.
Expected to live a life of spiritual maturity and continual growth, actively participating in the life of the church.
Primary Responsibilities
Youth Ministry Leadership
Provide overall leadership to the Youth Ministry (Grades 5–12) across all campuses.
Prepare and preach biblically sound, culturally relevant messages at weekly youth services.
Plan and lead special events (e.g., camps, conferences, mission trips, fundraisers, and service projects).
Integrate youth into the broader church body through serving, worship, and discipleship opportunities.
Volunteer Development
Recruit, train, and empower volunteer teams, including small group leaders.
Provide ongoing care, support, and development opportunities for leaders and volunteers.
Cultivate a healthy, Christ-centered team culture.
Parental and Community Engagement
Build and maintain strong relationships with parents; keep them informed and engaged.
Develop partnerships with local schools and community organizations to expand ministry impact.
Connect with and communicate to parents/guardians and to church body about events, camps, and other important or relevant updates regarding youth ministries.
Ministry Operations & Administration
Implement and maintain infrastructure for all youth ministry operations, including systems, culture, and strategy.
Oversee the Youth Ministry budget with financial stewardship and creativity.
Ensure all youth events, services, and communication are executed with excellence.
Communication & Social Media
Manage and curate all social media accounts related to Youth Ministry.
Create engaging, age-appropriate content that reflects the heart and values of Harbor Church.
Use digital platforms to build community and extend ministry reach.

Lead by example in spiritual disciplines: prayer, Scripture study, worship, and community life.
Participate in weekly services, events, and staff gatherings.
Willingness to preach on Sundays or assist the Lead Pastor with visitations or pastoral counseling, as needed.
Qualifications
Must-Haves
Deep passion for NextGen ministry and a calling to disciple youth.
High relational capacity and ability to lead with empathy and authority.
Ability to make sound, Spirit-led decisions under pressure.
Team player with strong communication and organizational skills.
Analytical thinking with attention to detail and effective time management.
Personal relationship with Christ and an obedient and humble spirit in serving Him.
Nice-to-Haves
Formal ministry training or theological education.
Experience in a non-profit or ministry context, especially within a multi-site model.
Proficiency in digital platforms, project management tools, or media production.
