Church description

LC is a rapidly growing, missionally-oriented church in an affluent suburb of Birmingham, AL. With ongoing missions in Appalachia, Nicaragua and inner-city Birmingham, we are focused on changing the world we live in through the power of Jesus Christ.

We are a very young church with tons of young families. As such, we feel called to focus our ministry on strengthening families. We do this through sermon series and programs directed at parenting, marriage and family finance.

We are a "small groups" church. OVer the past three years, we have gone from 3 to 15 year-round small groups. We actually require attendees to join a small group before joining the church. For church membership to have any meaning, it must serve as a catalyst for deepening each person's commitment to Jesus. This relates back to our mission statement which states that we feel called to develop "highly committed disciples" rather than nominal christians.

LC is a fun place to worship and serve. We are intentionally inclusive and place a high priority on welcoming all people and treating all people groups with dignity and respect.
