jake's résuméLast updated
I love to walk through life's ups and downs with people and point them to hang onto to Jesus through it all.
I am a 15 year veteran in youth ministry and have been successful at growing unhealthy groups forward to healthy, thriving and growing groups by being highly relational, building staff and teaching biblical foundations to students.
To find a community where my family and I can belong and live life together. I have a heart for people and specifically students. I’m a highly relational person who enjoys working with a team to impact lives for eternity. My desire is to create a safe place of community where everyone can know they belong, they can meet and grow in love with Jesus, be given tools to grow deeper in their faith so the storms of life will not overtake them, and be challenged to live their lives with integrity to show the world Jesus. I desire to grow in my leadership skills and learn from those I am under as well as use my gifts to help a staff team share Jesus with the world.

Conversion: I grew up surrounded by Christian influence of family and as the son of a youth pastor. From that influence, I made a decision for Jesus Christ at a young age. Although I grew in knowledge of Christ, the reality of Christ’s love became significant to me during high school as our family was going through a crisis (Parent’s Divorce). I realized that He is the only one who brings fulfillment and joy to life. I have had some struggles over the years wrestling with the goodness of God and His care for us, mostly in the question of God’s love in suffering. We have encountered many difficult things over the years from our house burning down to five late term miscarriages. My wife and I have learned so much through this journey of hurt and healing and the Father heart of God. Our focus in life and journey of faith has changed greatly during this time. As a result of these experiences in life, I have been constantly affirmed that God has put in me a shepherd’s heart and I feel called to minister to others as we journey this life together.
