Responsibilities include providing the services of in-home counseling and/or therapeutic supervised visitation to families referred by the TN Department of Children's Services Providing in-home. Traveling to the family's home to work on topics and issues that DCS has identified as need-areas. Topics may include parenting, domestic violence, substance abuse, communication, conflict resolution, etc. Therapeutic Supervised visitation is the highest level of intense visitation that a family can receive. Providing this service to families means carefully observing visits between birth parents and their children, modeling appropriate parenting techniques, educating the birth parents on effective discipline and parenting techniques, redirecting any inappropriate parenting behaviors, and assisting with attachment and bond during the visitation.
