CENTRAL PASTOR OF KID MINISTRIES
Job Description
Daybreak Church is a multi-site Christian & Missionary Alliance church located in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, just west of the capital Harrisburg. Their model of leadership is Elder Directed, Staff Led, with a Governing Board, Ministry Board, and a Lead Pastor team. Ric Jacobs serves as the Lead Vision Pastor and primarily teaches at the Gettysburg Pike Campus, while Shawn Andrews serves as the Lead Equipping Pastor and primarily teaches at the Orrs Bridge Campus. The church currently sees around 1,100 in total Sunday morning attendance between the two campuses, with Gettysburg Pike seeing around 850 in attendance and Orrs Bridge with 250. Both campuses offer two identical modern styled worship, both in person and online. They are planning to launch their third campus in the next year and are structured for growth.
Daybreak is known for being a place where people are welcomed to come as they are, but not stay that way. A place where people can engage in vital relationships, develop and grow. A place to live a vibrant life of faith as they discover and deepen a life-changing relationship with Jesus. The church desires to reach families in their communities and offer an incredible discipleship-based Kid ministry. Nursery, Preschool and Elementary environments are offered at the two identical services at each campus, under the leadership of part time campus Kid Directors. A great team of volunteers lead a ‘large group / small group’ modeled ministry.
The church is seeking the right candidate to take over as the new Pastor/Director of Daybreak Kid Ministries to oversee their entire birth through upper elementary and be the primary visionary for the 3 campuses. The right candidate will have a deep personal life in Christ and the character and capacity that align with the church’s overall mission and vision. Below are the qualifications and responsibilities Froot Group and the church have identified for this role:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Relentlessly champion Kid Min through vision casting and celebrating Kid Min wins.
Serve as a member of the Central Staff Team, collaborating with other ministry department leaders to help carry out Daybreak’s mission.
Oversee the development and execution of Kid Min programming at all 3 campuses.
Be the lead shepherd & equipper of the 3 Kid Min Campus Directors, equipping them to call, connect, and coach other leaders and volunteers on their teams.
Create, improve, and maintain opportunities for Kid Min to align with the mission and vision of Daybreak church.
Create a discipleship plan for Daybreak kids that engages them in creative: engaging, age appropriate Bible-centered teaching.
Partner with the Pastor of Students to execute on a seamless discipleship plan for kids from Birth through 18 years of age with a specific focus on the transition between Kid Min & Student Min.
Shepherd and disciple both the adults and kids participating in Kid Min by caring for their spiritual vitality and helping them access and engage in other discipleship opportunities.
Partner with parents in their kids’ discipleship.
Occasional coordination of childcare needs outside of Sunday morning.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A clear calling to kid ministry vocationally.
Excellent organizational leadership skills, administrative skills, and strong self-starter initiative.
A team player and team builder who focuses on the good of the entire organization.
Strong track-record of discipleship and ability to equip others.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in a relative field is preferred.
Experience
4+ years of relative kid ministry experience, multisite is preferred.
Licensed by The Alliance, Ordination/Consecration preferred.
