Position Summary
The Next Gen Pastor (NGP) helps Fellowship Dallas carry out its mission primarily by providing spiritual, pastoral, and administrative leadership to all aspects of Next Generation Ministries (birth through grade 12). The NGP is responsible for leading, managing and providing accountability to the Next Gen staff and volunteer teams, creates and fosters parent and family partnerships, disciples birth – 12th graders, and leads the way in milestone development. He or she serves as the chief leader of the Student Ministries, as well as shepherding carefully and prayerfully the children, teens, parents, and volunteers involved in all Next Generation Ministries. This Pastor is a relationship builder and will develop and empower leadership teams to work with students, parents and other volunteers.
Leadership

• Collaborates with staff and leaders to carry out the church's mission.
• Is responsible for the championing, leadership, management and accountability for the Next Gen staff and volunteers.
• Builds and invests in the Next Gen Ministry Leadership Teams.
• Provides leadership and direction for the ministry and develops and supervises leaders and volunteers.
• Creates or selects curriculum, events, and outreaches for all ages.
• Creates vertical and horizontal integration across the ages and ministries.
• Collaborates with other teams for events, training, and church-wide initiatives.
• Oversees the Next Gen Ministry budget.
• Pursues ongoing personal development.
Discipleship
• Actively engages in discipleship and relationship building with students.
• Creates relevant, engaging experiences for families, students and kids.
• Recruits and develops a diverse team to lead teaching, small group, service and worship experiences.
• Recruits and develops volunteer leaders and a sustainable framework for ministry growth.
Pastoral Care
• Prays faithfully for the next gen team, parents, children, and volunteer team.
• Purposes to know each family, student and child by name and ensure that they have a personal relationship at Fellowship.
• Offers pastoral care for families with students from birth through 12th grade, walking with them, and providing support through resources, counsel and care ministry as needed.
Parent/Family Partnership
• Engages parents as key spiritual influencers.
• Designs opportunities to help parents and students stay connected.
• Establishes rhythms for milestone events, communication, and parental support.
• Equips leaders to connect with parents and offers resources for family discipleship.
• Reaches out to parents consistently and welcomes new families to the ministry.
Mobilization
• Creates opportunities for the next generation to discover and begin to live out their God-given purpose in Christ.
• Facilitates opportunities for students to serve in various ministries within Fellowship as they serve their church and move outside the walls on mission.
• Trains adult leaders to raise up kids/students' leaders within the ministry.
• Partners with the Global Outreach Director on summer mission trips for families, students and adult leaders. Takes the lead with student trips.
Qualifications
• Church Membership: Be a committed follower of Jesus Christ and an active covenant member at Fellowship Dallas, aligned with and supportive of the church’s doctrine, mission, vision, and values.
• Education: Graduate of accredited college or university.
• Experience: Previous ministry experience with a strong understanding of current child/student culture.
• Communication: Excellent teaching and interpersonal skills.
• Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with church staff, volunteers, and parents.
• Teachable: Possess a humble attitude before God, colleagues, families and volunteer leaders.
• Discipleship: Passion for mentoring and guiding young people in their spiritual journey.
• Creativity: Innovative and adaptable approach to meet the evolving needs of today’s families.
• Leadership: Demonstrated organizational and leadership abilities.
Time Requirements: Full-time role; 40-hour per week minimum; Sunday through Thursday work week.
