Part-Time Next Gen Pastor

Reports to: Lead Pastor

Status: Part-Time (16–20 hrs/week)

Ministries Overseen: Children (Birth–5th) & Youth (6th–12th)

The Role

We’re looking for a Next Gen Pastor who will help kids and teens find their way back to God. This role combines administrative leadership for Children’s Ministry (with 9–12 volunteers already in place) and hands-on leadership for Youth Ministry (teaching, small groups, and building relationships).

You’ll be the vision caster and culture shaper for both ministries—organizing, promoting, budgeting, and planning events like VBS, youth camp, and retreats. Most importantly, you’ll create an environment where kids and teens grow in faith, character, and connection to God.

This role calls for someone who can speak the language of the next generation, understand their challenges, and build authentic relationships. Through creativity, energy, and a heart for discipleship, you’ll help students own their faith and live it boldly every day, shaping a generation of Christ-followers who help others do the same.

What You’ll Do

Lead and support the volunteer team that teaches and cares for kids
Oversee curriculum, safety systems, and communication with families
Plan and promote events, service projects, and outings with plenty of lead time (begin planning 5 months out)
Teach 75% of Sunday morning teen gatherings
Develop a midweek teen LifeGroup / worship experience
Build authentic relationships with students and parents
Recruit, equip, and grow volunteer teams for both kids and youth ministries
Plan and lead Youth Summer Camp, VBS and possibly a Winter Retreat
Manage budgets and resources for both ministries

General Responsibilities

Be the primary voice and advocate for the Next Gen at LaunchPoint
Collaborate with staff for alignment across ministries
Manage calendars, events, and communication
Be consistently present on Sundays + midweek youth gatherings

What We’re Looking For

A growing relationship with Jesus and alignment with LaunchPoint’s mission
Experience working with kids and/or teens in ministry
Highly organized with strong relational skills
Proven ability to recruit, train, and lead volunteers with confidence and clarity
Loves both planning and mentoring
Bonus Points:

Bilingual and/or culturally responsive to diverse communities.
Ministry/theological training (degree not required)

Schedule & Hours

16–20 hours/week
Required: Sundays, midweek meet ups with staff + midweek youth ministry
Flexibility for events like VBS, camp, and retreats
