Job at Church of God of Landisville
Director of Family Ministries
Job Description
Church of God of Landisville, PA is looking for our next Director of Family Ministries to help us grow our outreach to local families. This part time position is 20-25 hours per week and leads and oversees ministry to children from birth through 12th grade in collaboration with staff, volunteers, and parents. Currently, we are going through a revitalization transition, and we need a leader with a growth mindset who wants to build for the future. We currently minister to 10-15 children during our weekly services, but we hope the new director will help us reconnect with the community, as well as rekindle our relationship with our local school district (located just across the street from the church). The church also hosts a preschool on site, which has a separate director and is not part of this open position.
You are someone who loves kids and youth and who prioritizes your own relationship with Jesus – you lead from the overflow of your own life. Experience is needed to lead this ministry, but your experience does not have to be in a paid ministry position. Perhaps you have been a high capacity volunteer, or you are in school for ministry (or recently completed) and are looking for your first staff opportunity. You could also be someone who is retired or looking for a second career. What matters most is that you have a calling to this ministry, and that Jesus is Lord in your life. In pursuing your calling, you will work hard to connect with families and the community and invite them into what God is doing to build his kingdom.
You need to have:
A personal testimony of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ
Ministry or education experience (or a related field)
Positive leadership ability, teaching ability, communication skills, organizational skills
Ability to work independently and meet goals and deadlines
Current and clean background checks and child safety clearances (can be obtained during the hiring process if not done already)
General responsibilities include:
Teaching children or youth
Recruiting and training volunteers
Planning and executing events for ministry
Effective communication with families and the church
Administration of schedules, safety procedures, budgets
Please email jeremy@landisville.church to express your interest in this position. Include a brief statement about your spiritual journey and ministry experience.
